This system allows pedestrians to safely request a crossing phase by pressing a tactile button, which triggers a securely timed sequence of signals for vehicles to stop, ensuring dedicated and safe crossing time.

Working Mechanism

1. Request: A pedestrian approaches the crosswalk and presses the tactile push button on the command pole.
2. Registration: The system acknowledges the request visually and audibly, entering a calculated wait phase based on current traffic flow.
3. Stopping Traffic: Vehicle signals transition from Green to Amber, then to Solid Red, commanding all oncoming traffic to securely halt.
4. Crossing: The pedestrian signal head turns Green with a numerical countdown, indicating it is now safe to cross.
5. Reset: Once the timer expires, the pedestrian signal turns Red, and vehicle traffic is safely restored to Green.
